12th Meeting of the BRICS Astronomy Working Group (BAWG)
The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) is pleased to welcome participants to the 12th Meeting of the BRICS Astronomy Working Group, which will be held from 26–30 October 2026 at the IUCAA campus in Pune, India. The meeting will be conducted primarily in person, with the possibility of online participation for registered attendees who are unable to travel. Organized by IUCAA in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the 2026 meeting will focus on the theme:
Multi-Messenger and Multi-Wavelength Transients
This theme will bring together astronomers, researchers, educators, outreach practitioners, development specialists, and policymakers from across the BRICS community and beyond to exchange knowledge, present recent scientific advances, and share best practices in astronomy, education, and public engagement.

- Data Science Hackathon
- BRICS Astronomy Working Group Meeting
- Scientific Communication Training
Participants can look forward to keynote presentations, hands-on training workshops, collaborative working-group discussions, and opportunities to learn about IUCAA’s research, education, and outreach initiatives.
Whether attending in person on the scenic IUCAA campus or joining remotely, participants will contribute to strengthening international collaboration and advancing research on multi-messenger and multi-wavelength astronomical phenomena.

Registration and Hospitality
