In accordance with the resolutions of the 5th BRICS Astronomy Working Group (BAWG) meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the 2nd of October, 2019, it was agreed to host the next BAWG meeting and scientific workshop in Russia. The event is organized by the Boris N. Yeltsin Ural Federal University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Russia warmly welcomes participants of the 6th BRICS Astronomy Working Group Meeting and Scientific Workshop, and wishes efficient and productive cooperation.

The mission of the BRICS Astronomy Working Group is to promote cooperation between BRICS member countries in the field of astronomy and enabling technologies through joint activities of government, universities, research institutions, and industry, as relevant, to develop astronomical sciences, generate new knowledge, train human capital, develop new technologies and applications, and improve public understanding of science.
